Gathering of the orange

Seventeen years ago, Edwin Karg and his son, Larry, hosted the first Orange Spectacular at their farm three miles northwest of Hutchinson. The show continues to attract about 230 tractors and about 6,200 people from across North America.

All aboard! Model railroad club draws train fans of all ages

Model railroading is often called the world’s greatest hobby. About 25 Hutchinson-area model railroaders, age 10 to 75, share that view. They belong to Luce Line Railroad Club Inc.

Drama and pageantry are two words that come to mind when the Phoenix Drumline is scheduled to perform. With their choreographed routine and matching costumes, the student drumline is a stirring sight.

The mission of the Hutchinson Concert Association is bring quality music to Hutchinson. For an investment ranging from $18 for a student to $75 for a family, members can enjoy a variety of musical entertainment. The 2008-2009 season features: Fascinating Gershwin, Just Friends, Opus 2 and the Synergy Brass Quintet.

Crow River Arts offers a variety of programs and educational opportunities for children and adults including collaboration with local schools to promote children’s art and theater productions.
